computer I use has gone bad. Won't start. If it does it hangs. Given up on

the other did. Having trouble.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>New system I am using is Windows Vista Home Premium
on a Toshiba .</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>The program I am trying to use reads data from a
scanner. The scanner connects to the computer via a cable which has a 9
pin serial port. On the other computer I used a USB to Serial converter
cable so they would connect and all worked fine.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Using all the same equipment and cables on the
Vista I get the message USB-Serial Adapter Driver needed to be installed
but cannot be found. I have no CD for the adapter it didn't come with one.
Windows had no suggestions on how to solve problem.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I have used Google and gone to Microsoft to find a
driver but it is beyond me and the time I have to figure it
out.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be
greatly appreciated.</FONT></DIV>
