<div>Richard,</div>

<div>If you were on *nix I would be able to provide you with a Perl script that takes a csv file, a format file, both created from within filePro and then via a system command runs the Perl script that creates a real xls file with column formating in it.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Do you have Perl running on any of your Windows machines?</div>

<p>Somethimes it is better to define the file name with .dat and Excel will not try to auto import it but starts an import wizard in which yo can set column data types so you could then set the type for this column to text and the problem would not occur.</p>
