<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>Wow! Thanks Smitty. Much
appreciated. *EVER* little bit helps.<SPAN class=256194801-09032008>
I look at *every* single new thing that might possibly help me do my
thing. I've seen some pretty cool bluetooth stuff that works with my
little Linux PDA. I'll check this one out</SPAN></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>My new email is <A
href="mailto:john.esak@21appr.com">john.esak@21appr.com</A>. I have been
using this for the past couple months on this list and elsewhere since January
1, but I don't think anyone really noticed. I </SPAN><SPAN
class=848492511-06032008>now work for Tim Barr at 21st Century Appraisals out of
Harrisburg, PA (actually, main office is in Middletown, PA). </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>I have to say... working here since the
start of the year has been the nicest experience. Everyone at the company is
just fantastic. I am now part of a really great team that handles so many
far-flung (filePro-based and other) systems. It is challenging and fun, mostly
because of the good people and terrific atmosphere. Plus, must say, I love
working at a place where there is an unbelievable main web (computer) center
(yes, a real computer floor, huge dedicated A/C system routed directly to the
racks and the whole ball of wax)... all </SPAN><SPAN
class=848492511-06032008>with extraordinary equipment (the racks are full
of latest HP servers, jukeboxes, NAS storage, bonded T1's, etc., etc.)
complete with a terrific guy whose job it is to handle the maintenance of
hardware throughout the place. Others take care of networking, still others do
web design, more on back-end stuff and documentation... another
handful of us doing filePro. </SPAN><SPAN
class=848492511-06032008></SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>At Nexus, I was doing *all* of this
stuff myself. The budget was terrible, the atmosphere was non-existent to
rotten, the equipment was on last legs, etc., etc. I now work in a
beautiful building or from home, but I *like* being on the spot and intimately
involved (which is slowly happening I hope... I think they are going easy on me
though for the start since I am still essentially recovering from a 6th (yes a
6th and hopefully *final*) cornea transplant. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN><SPAN
class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>Boy, I have to also say, their filePro
programs are gigantic, complex and deployed all over the state of Pennsylvania
doing million dollar jobs everywhere they are installed. It is kind of
humbling to see how cloistered and parochial I used to be with my own ideas of
networking, maintaining hardware and writing programs for what I thought was a
well organized family company. This entire organization makes Nexus
look to me like </SPAN><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>the one-man IT
operation it was. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>So, to respond to your question about my

of course, keep <A href="mailto:john@valar.com">john@valar.com</A> (and that
tiny company of the same name going. However, I doubt it will be releasing
any new products any time in the near future.</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>Ooh! FilePro NEWS!!</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>Not incidentally, there are several
(actually many, many) other companies under the Barr enterprise.
</SPAN><SPAN class=848492511-06032008> one of them is a training company.
it is being arranged that sometime in the upcoming months? year?
... I will be doing some Expert filePro training at the </SPAN><SPAN

Mind-blowingly, the hotel rooms five minutes away are only $49 a night!
And, they have free broadband Internet, a refrigerator and microwave... and free
breakfast! Could not be a more ideal place to learn the vagaries of our
beloved product, eh? </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=848492511-06032008>I'll keep you all informed. as this aspect
