Use of variable or system maintained field in config file printer definition?

Not sure if this will work on a *nix system. For A Windows system I make sure that all of the local printers to use have the same name "System_printer". As long as Windows sees this printer name, Win:System_Printer will print to that printer.
Your other options If not following the previous mentioned suggestion would be to put the printer destination as a variable in the user profile or in the startup file for filePro.
The last option would be to create a filePro user file based on the login name and get the printer information from there. Use @once processing to set the printer.

Keep in mind that the next major release of filePro will allow for a lot more printers to be defined. I think the number will be 99 printers. Your 5.7 version may reach its end of life support shortly.
