Jobs was exceptional at one thing: taking mediocre and even
underspecced hardware, slapping overly user-friendly software and shiny,
idiot-proof/consumer-friendly casings on them, and selling them at
tremendously marked-up prices in order to realise a huge profit.

Apple has built their entire post-][e empire on exactly that scenario, and
they excel at it like no other.

Don't get me wrong; I like my iPad Mini. That said, I'd never buy a Mac
unless I wanted to develop iOS apps, and I can't stand my wife's iPhone.
I'm not -staunchly- anti-Apple, but I see them for what they are.
