No one made you say completely incorrect things. If you don't like being
told you are wrong, try to be less wrong.

Myself, I simply am ok with being corrected, when it's true. When it's
true, the more correct person can show it, and I can do nothing but
agree, since they showed it.

Now you might not think I actually *like* being corrected by looking at
some of my own emails, but then you would just be confusing hashing
things out to find the real truth, with defending a position at all
costs regardless if it holds water or not. If you don't perceive the
difference, that is really just more proof of your own lack of
perception and ability to analyze.

But the fact is, if I'm certain of something, then there is no argument
about it, I'm only certain because I know from plain proof and
experiment and observation, and it's not a matter for opinion and you
can rail against it and try to make it sound like being arrogant or
stubborn all you like, but it's not about me (or Mark, or whoever, or
anyone's personality), it's a fight between you and math. Go ahead and
fight with math if you insist.

And another fact is, I do like being corrected, because THAT is when I
learn something new. Knowing something already is just a tool. It's not
much of a goal by itself, just to sit there and be right about something
in an argument. It's just a fact that is. It's not interesting. It
doesn't bring anything new.

One opposes errors simply because they are errors, and allowing them to
spread hurts everyone.

I suspect it's somewhat similar with Mark.

Saying he's a meanie does not in any slightest way make any incorrect
statements and bad advice any less wrong. Applying a personality
critique to a technical problem is just about the dumbest thing you
could do.
