 From the mac that actually looks really good, Henry.  Well, in monochrome anyway.  I had a bit of difficulty figuring out which things to press to actually get a connection made, but after that, things were pretty easy.

On Google browser's Window/Extensions page (might be different under Windows impl.), there is a link to the right of "Allow in incognito" 
labeled "Options".  On that page are some evidently real-time options (I immediately made the font size real big).  I checked the box "backspace sends backspace" to make the backspace key work as a backspace; when in this mode and Ctrl-backspace acts like a cancel for breaking out of things.  I tried changing also in here send and receive encodings to
CP437 from utf-8, but I don't think I noticed any difference - all my fp function keys worked before and after this.  I haven't played around with creating profiles, but based on the heading here, you should be able to create profiles for the different kinds of systems that you may support.  When I connected to an older Unix box, I did have to reset TERM to xterm - that box didn't have entries for the default "xterm-256color" setting.

It does get you a quick ssh connection right from the browser where you can quickly adjust font-size.

Good find! , have you figured out how to get rid of the ^M that shows up every time I hit Enter at the command line ? I made the font larger as well and looks pretty good ;)
