Blank Record

| I have a question.Is it normal for Filepro to have a blank record at the 
| end of the group of records.

| We have 1947 men in our file that lists every man we have found in the 
| U.S. that served on the Destroyer U.S.S. McCaffery DDE860.That means 
| that there should be 1947 records in our file.

| But, we have 1948 records in the file, the last one being blank.When we 
| add a new member, the data for this man is entered, such as address, 
| city and state.When we have entered all data, we hit the ESC button to 
| record the data. The data is recorded and the screen shows the next 
| record, which is blank.

| I do a control-C to move the cursor down to the "Enter Selection," at 
| the bottom of the screen.However, the record number shows 1948 instead 
| of 1947.
| 
| If I do add a new man, he is given the record number 1948, but before I 
| add a new man, how can I prevent the record number from showing 1948?

Sure, there's often a blank last record. So what?  It's in the freechain;
thus, as you observe, it gets used for a new record.
