     Pardon my first answer.  I wasn't trying to be facetious, but it's been
a long day, and I was thinking about running processing to export
spreadsheets and so forth from *clerk.

     When you aren't generating any printed output, then I think the answer
is "no", since the processing-only sort definitions don't have a spot to put
a "Subtotal Field" in.

     However, you could probably spoof the system by calling the output
processing table a "report", but then not putting any headings or fields in
the report lines, so that you don't actually get any printout.
