shutdown

I know this is stressful but no need to shout!
Check /usr/adm/messages for entries from failing hardware or at least a
log entry from a process that is scheduling the shutdown.
Are there messages sent to the console (ALT-F1) of the server whilst
it's shutting down?
I've seen systems that have run out of disk space in the past and they
tend to keep running (not usefully of course) so unless you are seeing
kernel panic traps, something is probably shutting it down gracefully.
Do you have a UPS system that is monitored by software? If the cable
has come loose or it's diags are telling the system to shutdown that
would do it. I've also seen server class hardware that will auto
shutdown for failing fans, over heating, raid array failures etc. All
of those will leave messages in /usr/adm/messages.

IT JUST STARTED ON SATURDAY, WORKED ALL DAY WHEN USED. SUNDAY MORNING WAS OFF AND REQUIRED REBOOTING THEN SAME THING AGAIN THIS AM.
