escaping idle users back to menu

filePro is fairly robust. I have found tht it takes a lot to mess up a file.
The only time I had a client actually currupt their files was on a system running Citrix multiuser and someone shut the server off.
Oh yes, had a client lose a lot of data from a corrupted data when his Zenix system crashed.
Other then that, I have logged users off terminal server with no apparent dmage to the files.
Now I am not saying that doing something similar on a *nix system wont cause any damage.
I think it would be better to work on training your people to at least return to a menu before leaving. Forcing a logoff may cause more disruption then leaving them logged in especially if a file or files do get damaged.

ahhh I had forgotten about idleout - yea a little more brutal than I'd
like, but I agree, perhaps it will teach them (doubtful but I can
try) either way, I'll accomplish what I want to.
Has anyone used idleout on a system running filePro? If they're in the
middle of updating a record and idleout boots them off
the system, will it cause any file structure damage to the filepro
database?
Just want to make sure before I start playing with this.
I also found nidleout and autolog...anyone have any preferences?
thanks
