You might want to take a look at this:

There appear to be a number of possible entries of Windows7 based tablets
coming to market.  If they do, it should be interesting.

A quick read seems in indicate about a 10" screen.  

Over the past decade our monitors grew ever larger, including on laptops.
It now seems they are shrinking again.  

One can have a 65" flat panel at home watch movies and also watch them on
your phone.  Of course that's for those "young whippersnappers" with good
eyes. :)

That aside, I think any of us who chose to use a tablet will need a usb
keyboard if one intends to use it for any length of time.  This would most
likely keep the onboard virtual keyboard out of sight.

One place I can see using a tablet over my laptop is on a plane.
