silence readonly messages

when calling clerk on a file with -ro (read-only) flag set,
i have processing @key 1/2/3 etc, which determines which version
of screen 1/2/3 etc, can be viewed based on a user's security setting.
a quick check, then a "switchto" either "1a" or "1b" for example.

problem is get the read-only message just from the @key - even though
no update or real field setting is done.

any way to silence this message?

its bugging the heck out of the users as they get it for every screen.

i even tried a pushkey "[ENTR]" to get rid of it automatically as soon
as it popped up, but apparently that doesn't work on built-in messages.

PFMBTO=1 at least makes it go away after a second (note to ken - accept
decimals such as .00001 seconds?), but that has undesirable affect of
messing up real msgbox/errorbox commands, plus to show it at all is
annoying.
