Ryan,

I have a client running server 2008 with fP 5..6.10. 

1. The p option with lookups operates for windows system also. You should check your lookups which do posting. 

2. If you want read only for reports, set it on the command line for that report. 

We do have a problem when someone sits in update mode on a record and then forgets to close the record. The have reports that run hourly from the task manager so this can cause the report to hang.
