I run a split cluster of six CentOS 5.6 systems, lease a VPS server running
CentOS 5.3 (updated to 5.6 along the way, seamlessly, ZERO issues), have
helped out a number of clients with that OS, plus I use it as my linux
machine in-house under VirtualBox. You might say I have some experience
with it. :)
It's like Red Hat--but without Red Hat's costs -or- their bugs. Literally,
there are things Red Hat breaks that are simply not broken in CentOS, even
though it's based on RH.
It's solid, and it's my recommended distribution at this time. No
reservations whatsoever.
