An X11 *nix port would also run on Mac OS X which does have a
large market. The Ericom PowerTerm is pretty pricey compared to
Anzio, and they have a variety of *nix versions so it looks like
there is some market.
While I'm a strong advocate of open source, free as in beer,
software, I'm not adverse to paying for good software, and
certainly recommend it to my clients where appropriate. While
the casual Linux fanboy may not like paying for things, those of
us who use it extensively in small-to-medium businesses have no
problem paying for value.
One commercial program I use and highly recommend is VueScan
as (a) it works very well on a variety of platforms including
OS X, Windows, and Linux, and (b) it's very well supported.
