How do I open a filepro app from within an e-mail in Thunderbird 3

I have a program that used to work with Thunderbird 2, but no longer 
works with Thunderbird 3.  The program generates a report of open 
invoices and e-mails it to some individuals.  Part of each data line is 
an HTML tag to a batch file created by the report.  The batch file 
executes a rclerk on that particular record.  This worked fine with 
Thunderbird 2.

With Thunderbird 3 it asks what program to use and thinks that the 
application is 'f' because the link is 'f:\fpro\temp\xxx.bat'.

How can I accomplish this now?
