If you are the systems administrator in a multi-server environment,
making sure your servers and clients are time-synched is *your*
responsibility; not application programmers.  You should have alarms go
off if your NTP feeds break. 

Literally: ringing bells.  It's that important.

The "calls from lawyers" I was suggesting were my notional response by
customer to breakage if Mark tried to *replace* PgSQL by implementing
directly in filePro, as oppposed to ripping the engine off the bottom,
and replacing it with a link to a *real* database.

50 PhD's have put almost 500 manyears into PgSQL; you don't wanna do
that all over again.
