Abbreviations and mnemonics have always been a double edged sword.
It's especially tough on us consultants who work in multiple industries.

For example, I particularly hate "MAC". If I have by military cap on,
it means "Military Assistance Command". If I'm in a hospital environment,
just in the anesthesiology arena alone it could mean "Mean Alveolar
Concentration" or "Monitored Anesthesia Care", depending on context.

The first "Mac" I learned in high school was "machine address code",
and whenever somebody says "mac" in a computer context, that always pops
into my head first. Of course, now days, it's more likely to mean
"Macintosh Computer" or "Media Access Control".
