Character Base vs GUI

If your application deals with a lot of text handling and its work environment
functions well with character base format, no development tool out there can beat
filePro.

In the other hand, if you need GUI in any shape or form, filePro is not for you.

A lot has been said and valid points have been scored from both sides of the
isle. While some appear to be in denial and some what defensive, the fact
remains that each of us have unique needs that have found, for some reason or
another, filePro cannot deliver the desired results.

While some of us argue that we can get it done and have gotten it done, this
does not mean that every one else should accept/adopt the methods we have
chosen to employ and put up with filePro. No one can argue that filePro is
NOT a GUI application - It is not in Windows nor in any of the available platforms.

Putting a corvette kit on a berlinetta does not make the berlinetta a corvette.
In essence, that is what we have with filePro GUI, a kit. Same goes with filePro
ODBC.

At this point, I feel that I am going to milk the cow for as long as the cow is
producing milk. For any future "new" development, I am looking at .NET.
