By the way "jnlp" was mentioned earlier. That is the format used by
Java Webstart. I just had this running on Linux/Mozilla.

First find out where javaws is installed, such as
/usr/lib/jre/javaws/javaws

Then when your browser gives you the "open with" prompt direct it to
javaws.
