KDE's kdm starting filePro

(Note:  I do not have a kde setup in front of me at the moment...)

Check $0 and the environment to see if there's anything in there that
tells you.  I seem to recall an environment variable (DISPLAY?) that
is set once in the windowed environment.  Perhaps it's set when running
kde's startup, and it won't be there for a standard ssh connection?
