javascript != java
javascript is an entirely different language than Java. The only
relationship javascript has to Java is the unfortunate similarity in
names. The performance of the code section you quoted should not be
affected at all by updating your Java runtime engine.
I have not checked this but I don't believe that there are any Java
applets used in the online manual.
