It's not just his experience, Brian.

I've been doing this for money for over 20 years now.  SCO no longer
stands up to Linux.  Not on ease of software porting, not on GUI
(SuSE/KDE hammers OpenDeathtrap, whatever version it's in now), and
these days, not even on performance, except perhaps in small corner
cases.

And certainly not on price.

So try to avoid the knee-jerk "it's Mark" reaction, and actually read
what he's saying.
