Only Jay Ashworth would say something like:

Amen. I was actually not previously conversant with that document. Thanks
for introducing me (us) to it. Not a big fan of ESR's (let's say I think
the OSS movement could use a more level-headed and less polarising poster
child), but he has some excellent advice and really valid points in this.
Not the least of which was this little jewel, which may explain a lot about
my perceived attitude to a lot of people around here, if they actually
keep in mind that I actually tend to travel in those circles more than
professional 'business' ones by comparison over a large span of time (20+
years). I thought this would be highly enlightening in specific--enough to
quote it directly, considering the exact feelings aired since Friday:

"Much of what looks like rudeness in hacker circles is not intended to give
offence. Rather, it's the product of the direct, cut-through-the-bullshit
communications style that is natural to people who are more concerned about
solving problems than making others feel warm and fuzzy."

'nuff said. He pegged it spot-on.

I may add a link to the whole thing on my own sites, actually. Thanks for
pointing out something valuable, Jay.
