Server-side validation can be done. It's just going to take a -lot- of
work to re-do in a CGI context.

Good point--except I was under the impression you wanted your data in fP,
and had pre-existing code that needed to be supplemented, not replaced.

Ouch. Nevermind the software cost. The requisite software is a pittance
compared to the man-hours inherent in such a partial redesign. Sounds like
you need that 4000 count server, or more likely a decently load-balanced
cluster with shared data on a Network Appliance or other similar solution.
Since fP-Tech would have to do a custom version and pricing anyway, it can
probably be split however you analyse it comes out best.
I still think 4000 users on a single system concurrently is a Really Bad
Idea though. (I just got a chuckle thinking about the probable size of
wtmp alone.)
