I am having a problem setting up fpodbc. I am sure it is something I am doing wrong but I am at the end of my patience so I will ask those of you that are more patient than I. I have a .mdb file called journal that is created from a palm sync. In setting up Fpodbc, I goto define files and give my file the name odbc-journal then I press 3 to start the setup of the link to my mdb file. The first time that I did this it brought up a blank screen in the file data source screen. I muddled my way through and created a dsn named journal and it brings up the fpodbc interface to look at all of the tables. The table name is FORM_ID_191449693 that I want to select. I select it and after several seconds the system comes back to the define files program and asks for the Unique ID field. I then receive the message Cannot open table. I also tried going into the ODBC interface through Control Panel and created the dsn there as well and I get the same message. I have a field in the table that is record id but is not an auto incrementing field and thus I do not have a unique id field in the file. Could this be why it cannot open the the table? If this is true, how can I convert that field to auto incrementing? Access, I am not nor do I desire to be an access guru, says that I can not convert a field to auto incrementing once there is data in the file. I would appreciate any bones that can be thrown my way.
