Our first meeting was a tremendous success.  We were able to broadcast the
meeting live to Camano and even include them in the questions.  We'll have
to put a little more work into the Sound on the little Island and we will.
Rest assured we'll have that worked out by the July meeting.

Our Guest Speaker will be Land-Use Consultant and Whatcom County Chapter
Education Czar, Roger Almskaar.

Whatcom County's CAPR Chapter has been up and running for more than 2 years
now and Roger has been a past President.  He will be filling us in on the
role of the State group and methods Whatcom County is using to have an
effective organization.

 

We also hope to have a member of FAIR (Freeland Area Informed Residents, or
something like that) give an update on their issue with the Growth
Management Act and local officials attempting to bring a $40 Million burden
to their area.

 

Topics from the last meeting were:

*	Ways to influence land-use decisions in your local government.
Developing Ordinance amendments for the Annual Planning Docket.
*	How to have an effective organization.  Membership drive and very
limited participation.
*	Chapter Elections coming up in August.  You have to be a dues paying
member to vote. 
*	Bylaws supplement - If President is from Whidbey, VP must be from
Camano, and visa versa.
