CAPR UPDATE
April 30, 2010
CAPR 2010 Executive Board
The ballots are counted and the 2010 CAPR Executive Board is:
Preston Drew President
Scott Shock Vice-president
Jeff Wright Secretary
Cindy Alia Treasurer
Roger Almskaar Director
Dan Griner Director
Darol Johnson Director
In addition to the usual veteran line up, we welcome new Board member Roger
Almskaar as a Director. Roger is a Director of the Whatcom Co. CAPR chapter
and will help to broaden the Board's perspective. Also, Darol Johnson is
back after a one year hiatus.
An honorable mention goes to Gail Adair, President of the Grant Co. chapter.
Gail also ran for a Director's position and only missed the cut by several
votes. Gail would also have broadened the Board and we hope she will again
be on the ballot in 2011.
McFarland Award Presented to Justice Sanders
The Rodney and Laurel McFarland Award for 2010 was presented to Washington
Supreme Court Justice Richard B. Sanders at the annual CAPR Banquet. The
award honors those who stand out in their efforts to protect and preserve
property rights. In his opinions in property rights cases, Justice Sanders
has consistently followed the letter and intent of the Constitution.
Justice Sanders is campaigning for re-election. The CAPR Political Action
Committee has rated him "Outstanding". To learn more about Justice Sanders
and his campaign, visit www.FriendsofJustice.com
<http://www.friendsofjustice.com/> . Remember to donate to his campaign!
Support Jim Boyer for Jefferson Co. Commission
Founding member and past President of the Jefferson County Chapter of CAPR,
Jim Boyer, is running for a seat on the County Commission, District 3.
Visit his website at www.JimBoyer2010.com <http://www.jimboyer2010.com/> to
learn more and donate! The election is in August. Jim has been rated
"Outstanding" by CAPR.
Carter and Durgan Enter District 24 Race
Jefferson Co. CAPR Board members Larry Carter and Craig Durgan have thrown
their hats into the ring in the election for Representative(s) in District
24. Craig has filed for Position One and Larry for Position Two.
Considering Jim Boyer, this makes three current or past Jefferson CAPR folks
who have decided that the best way to deal with out of control politicians
is to unseat them. Larry and Craig have a joint website which explains
their positions and has a lot of content. Visit the site at
www.NewWayCampaign.com <http://www.newwaycampaign.com/> .
Donate to CAPR Online
You can now donate to CAPR online. Go to www.capr.us <http://www.capr.us/>
(same as proprights.org) and click on the DONATE tab. Even as a volunteer
organization, the level of funding available determines what we can
accomplish in the fight to preserve and protect property rights. Help us
help you. Donate!
Matching Contributions
If you work for a company, which adds matching funds to charitable
contributions, remember the CAPR Legal Fund. All donations to the Legal
Fund are tax deductible and the additional contribution by your employer
makes leverages your contribution towards protecting your property rights.
