Countdown to the Banquet

Time is fleeting! Have you registered for the second annual CAPR Banquet?
This year's event will be held on May 15th at Embassy Suites Hotel in the
Eastgate area of Bellevue. The Banquet will host a set of property rights
speakers with the Keynote Address by Bob Williams, founder of Evergreen
Freedom Foundation. Also speaking are Brian Hodges from Pacific Legal
Foundation and Bill Maurer from Institute for Justice. You will hear the
latest news as CAPR continues to expand across the state. Add in a great
meal, special recognitions, a silent auction and more, and it will be a
great night in the company of good people.

The program and meal start at 7:00 PM but you should consider coming early
at 6:00PM for the reception, including a no-host bar. CAPR received many
compliments about last year's program but what people enjoyed most was being
in the company of others who understand that property rights is one of the
foundation blocks of freedom.

CAPR Election Certified

The 2009 CAPR election was certified at the April Board meeting with the
results as follows.

          President Steve Hammond

          Vice-President Preston Drew

          Secretary Jeff Wright

          Treasurer Cindy Alia

          Directors: Jim Osborne

                                                Dan Griner

                                                Scott Shock

The results yielded a change in the line-up of Directors from 2008. As an
interesting side note, many folks did not vote on the Director's portion of
the ballot stating that it was unfair to have to choose when all were good
candidates. A nice complement to those candidates! As past President
Rodney McFarland often said, we look forward to the day when we have at
least two qualified candidates for each position. (It would help with the
burnout rate!)

Next month the new Board will confirm the appointments to the Political
Action Committee and the Legal Fund Board. If you are interested in serving
on either, please contact Jeff Wright at the email address at the end of
this letter.

No King Co. Chapter Meeting in May

Well, sort of. The Banquet will take the place of the May meeting. Be sure
to join us on the first Wednesday in June for the next official King Co.
Chapter meeting. The place will again be Lombardi's Italian Restaurant
located at 695 NW Gilman Blvd. in Issaquah.

Matching Contributions

If you work for a company, which adds matching funds to charitable
