Property Right Alert

Dear Supporters of the Right to Private Property,

SB 6493 is the bad idea of Senator Steve Hobbs (D-Lake Stevens).

As amended, it would impose a huge new $400 filing fee for requests for
review of a Growth Management Hearing Board (GMHB) decision.  This bill also
includes provisions that if the court declares the appeal frivolous, and
cities or citizens have followed all of its requirements, the city may sue
the complainant for twice attorney's fees.

We had tremendous testimony against this bill in committee, but the climate
in Olympia right now is ripe for these bad property rights bills.  The bill
is now sitting in the Senate Ways and Means committee awaiting a hearing.

Please contact your legislators and urge them to not support this bill which
raises fees and stifles review of bad decisions.
