Great efforts by Edwina.  Also, I put together a PowerPoint that may be
of use to people in presenting or talking about this.  I put it together
as an 8 minute speech for Toastmasters, but it can easily be adapted
with more examples, more points, etc, to make it into your own.  Please

"I could use someone to come to the ferry with me and another to go to
the Issaquah Grange Store when I am not there.  However, we should all
be doing this in our neighborhoods.

 

Attached to this e-mail is my flyer.  Anyone can change it if they can
make it better.  I have given out about 300-400 last weekend.  It is
very easy because people want this information.  If they don't, I just
say, "Okay" and move on.  Most people thank you for it.  This is better
than phone calls because there is more information here and you can
cover more people.  People would rather read the info at their own rate
and at their leisure time rather than listening to you.  Also, you can
just slip them under doormats.  I understand that it is legal to give
them out in parking lots because that is a public thoroughfare.

 

I approach people and say, "May I give you information on the Property
Fairness Initiative?  It will be on the ballot in November."  They
usually say "Thank you."  Some may ask you a question or two.  But if
they do not want it (rare), you just move on."
