Should the ballot title for a new tax say something about taxes?

Your friends and neighbors in the Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw area
need your help! They would like you to come to the Monday night meeting of
the Maple Valley City Council (see details below) to help generate some
publicity about a new property tax they are facing.

Valley Medical Center has an election scheduled on May 16 that would extend
their taxing authority of $0.59 per $1000 to the above mentioned areas even
though many of the residents of those areas use other health care providers.
The ballot title says nothing about the new taxes.

The Maple Valley City Council announced Tuesday that it will hold a public
hearing on the VMC annexation at its regular meeting next Monday at 7 p.m.
It will be held at the Tahoma School District Central Services Center, 25720
Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road.
