To all CAPR members,
We are considering establishing local chapters within King County as
well as chapters in other counties statewide.
In King County chapters might form around similar geographic areas like
Vashon Island, Enumclaw Plateau; specific watersheds such as the Green
River basin; or simply around more generic areas like North, Central or
South King County.
Intended as a flexible alternative to driving long distances to attend a
state or county-wide board meeting, local chapters would have full
control in establishing a meeting schedule appropriate for the area and
time of year. Perhaps the chapter might have regular monthly meetings
in the winter and simply organize a few neighborhood gatherings and
potlucks in the summer.
Each chapter could focus on specific local issues in addition to
providing a local contact point for property owners and a formal
structure to organize local phone trees and volunteers. Ultimately
local chapters may elect to host one of the county-wide CAPR meetings
and a local representative from each chapter will have a position on the
CAPR Governing Board.
All that is needed are three interested individuals from each area; a
Chapter President, Vice President and a Secretary/Treasurer.
If you think you might be interested in forming a local chapter please
